When you use printer to print documents or photos, you may sometimes get errors as below:
- “Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close.”
- “Operation could not be completed. The print spooler service is not running.”
- “spoolsv.exe – Application Error”
The instruction at “0×10002837″ referenced memory at “0×00000000″. The memory could not be written.
These three errors are very common errors one may encounter when using a printer. And if you take a look at these error messages, you will find that all the three messages refer to the same thing: spooler. Print spooler is a process that runs backstage when a printer is working. You cannot turn it off, otherwise the printing work will not run smoothly. And there are cases that the spooler service is stopped by other applications in the system. To fix the problem, you will have to:
First, turn on the print spooler service. To do this, you will need to:
-
Click Start button on desktop
-
In run box or search column,
-
type services
-
choose local services
-
(or go to control panel>administrative tools>services)
-
Scroll down and click on Printer Spooler
-
Make sure its set to automatic
-
Click Start
-
Restart computer.
Second, delete some files in printer folder.
The spooler errors usually occur because some files in the install folder are not working correctly. By deleting them, we can get it work again. You will need to go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, and then delete the files in it. If you can’t delete them in normal mode, you will have to do that in safe mode. Press F8 when booting computer, you can get in safe mode.
Third, refer to help from a system fixer
If above two solutions cannot solve your problem, there may be more serious problems in your computer system. Don’t hesitate to get a system fixer to help you fix the problem. Otherwise, the problem may spread to other programmes and applications.
