How to Solve d3dx9_41.dll Not Found Error

 

The d3dx9_41.dll is an important file that is contained in DirectX. This file is needed for many games to run properly. If it is corrupted or missing from the system, you will have problem running games, and will possibly get below errors:

Since this is an error of file not found, you can solve the problem by restoring the file back to system. But to make the file function again, you will have to store the dll to correct folder. Normally, the d3dx9_41.dll will exist in below places:

The file is used by many applications and games. But it doesn’t mean that you have to restore the file to all these folders since you may not have those application in your computer. The best solution is to restore the file to system32 folder under C:\windows.
 
 
Method 1: Reinstall directX in your computer.

Download and install the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft website. If you want to verify the version of DirectX installed on your computer before installing the latest one then this is what you need to do:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Click Run.
  3. In the Run dialog box, type dxdiagand then press Enter to open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
  4. Check the information listed against DirectX Version under the System tab.

 

Method 2: Run SFC and use the repair CD to get back the file

  1. Click Start.
  2. Click Run.
  3. Type Cmd in the run box and press enter
  4. In the pop up command window, type in SFC /SCANNOW
  5. Press enter and let the computer scan for the missing files. When it asks for a repair CD, insert the CD.

 

Method 3:  Download a Dll Fixer and let it regain the file for you.

  1. download the dll fixer
  2. click system fix
  3. click dll download
  4. enter the dll name and press Search button
  5. Download the dll (it will be stored in system32 folder automatically)
  6. Click register dll to make the dll function again

 

Once the file is back in your system, you will find the errors all gone and your applications will run properly again.
