How to Fix “No audio device detected” Error

 

“No audio device detected” error is a common problem that usually happens. When this error occurs, the computer will not give sounds. And when you check the sound icon on bottom right part of the desktop, it will show a message that: No audio device detected. When you look in device manager, you will not find any sound device at all. It seems that the whole sound card is taken from the computer.

 

Cause of this error:

• Driver not installed
• Registry corrupted

 

Solutions:

 

Step 1:  Reinstall the sound driver.

• Find your computer brand and model number, or your sound card name from the user manual
• Go to the manufacturer’s official website
• Enter the model number.
• Find the latest sound/audio driver
• Click download and save it to your computer
• Install it after download is finished.

Step 2: Start the windows audio service

• Click on Start and Run 
• Type the following command and press Enter 
  services.msc

• Make sure the Startup Type is set to Automatic and click on the Start button under Service Status.
