Ieframe.dll is the library file for internet explorer. It contains important data for the proper running of internet explorer.
Important as it is, this file can always cause some serious errors that result in the mess up of system and disability of programmes. Some of the errors are as below:
- “File Not Found C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\IEFRAME.DLL”
- “Res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#”
Symptoms:
These errors can cause series of bad results, for example, internet explorer not working, not being able to print websites, etc.
Solutions:
Method 1: uninstall and reinstall Internet explorer.
To do this, follow below steps:
- Click Start.
- Click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
- Locate and right-click Internet Explorerin the Currently installed programs list.
- Click Uninstall/Remove.
After you have uninstalled IE, download and install its latest version from the Microsoft website.
Method 2: Re-register all dlls.
The ieframe.dll can be fixed by registerring related dlls. Sometimes, the problem is caused by other dlls, and the ieframe.dll is the reflective symptom. You will have to get the disabled dll registered, then the problem is solved. To register all dlls:
- Download a registry fixer
- Install it in your computer
- Run the activex register
- Reboot computer and check the programme again.
Method 3. Tweak Windows registry settings
- Click Start.
- Click Run.
- Type regeditin the Open box and then press Enter.
- On the Edit menu in the Registry Editor window that opens, click Find.
- Type ieframe.dll\1in the Find what box, and then press Enter.
- Delete \1 from the found key.
Note: To edit registry by yourself is risky if you are not familiar with regedit. If you have no confidence not making mistake, you’d better consult a registry fixer to solve the error.
