  • 1. Click Start, type services.msc in the Start Search text area, and then click services.msc in the programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
  •  2. Double-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service.
  • 3. Double-click Windows Update.
  • 4. If the Startup status lists Stopped, click Start and then click OK. Double-click Workstation.
  • 5. If the Startup status lists Stopped, click Start and then click OK.
  • 6. Close the Services window and try to install updates again.
