This dll seems strange with a long name; however, if we pay more attention to it, we will find that it actually has something to do with a famous printer brand: HP, short for Hewlett-Packard.
Hewlett-Packard is a famous computer and printer manufacturer in the world. It’s products range from computers to printers, servers to digital devices. While the error described above can appear when you try to install an all-in-one printer from Hewlett-Packard. The error may show as below:
“Fatal error during installation: Module C:\Program Files\HP\DigitalImaging\bin\HPSLPSVC32.DLL failed to register.”
To resolve this dll error, there are TWO steps to follow:
Step 1: Reinstall the printer driver in safe mode.
Sometimes, protective software, such as antivirus or firewall, will interrupt the installation process when they are running a scan or protection on your computer. To make sure that no program will break the installation, it is better to install the printer driver in safe mode. To start computer in safe mode, you will just have to press F8 when computer boots, there will be a menu for you to choose.
Step 2: Uninstall the previous printer driver.
If you are trying to update your printer driver and get this error, verify that if the previous printer driver is still in your system. If so, it is suggested that the old one is removed to avoid conflicting with the latest driver. The computer system will recognize and read the previous data to save time, but this will always result in fail installation because the system will think that the new one is not needed and thus refuse the installation.
If you have uninstalled the old driver version and still have this issue, it is recommended that you install a registry cleaner to clean the previous registry from the system. After that, you shall have no issue with installing the driver.
An advanced registry cleaner will also clean and fix other registry errors within your system to consistantly protect your computer and improve its performance. It will also solve many other errors such as blue screen, windows update failure and runtime errors.
