Many errors can plague your Web-browsing experience, but one of the most common and variable is the 404 error page. A 404 error display tells you that the site you are trying to access is unavailable, and the cause could lie in one of several possibilities. 404 errors usually don’t appear because you lack a valid Internet connection, but signal a problem with the Web address. Some of these error pages may not be labeled with a “404,” but rather a more generalized “page not found” message.
To fix this error, following methods can be followed:
One: Check the URL spelling
If even one character is incorrect in a long string of letters and numbers, you’ll probably encounter a 404 error page. Take care to minimize errors when typing Web addresses manually.
- 1. Click the Internet Explorer Tools menu, or press Alt-T on your keyboard.
- 2. Select Internet Options.
- 3. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
- 4. Select the “Delete personal settings” checkbox.
- 5. Click Reset.
- 6. If you still don’t see the Toolbar, try the steps above again to re-enable add-ons and the Toolbar.
- 1. Dowload and install SmartPCFixer to your computer.
- 2. Do a scanning in the IE module.
- 3. Then fix the discovered problem by clicking “Repair” button.
