How to Protect Your Privacy on Computer?

Thought your computer is safe with latest antivirus and anti-malware sogtware? This is totally wrong. Antivirus and Anti-Malware software can only protect your computer system from being damaged, and block some attacks from hijackers. But how about security of your privacy? Browsers and websites will always remember and collect your browse history to analyse, so to promote specific advertisement in your browse page. And how do you keep your online search history from being found by people who use your computer? You have to learn how to protect your privacy on computer.

First, clean your browsing history, caches, passwords and cookies , etc. after you exist your browser.

Browsers always offer such options for users to choose. But not many people notice it. Some people will think that it does not matter leaving such files in computer because they think privacy is something more serious, and if they don’t browse any illegal websites, they don’t have to do the cleaning. Later they will find that the advertisements and spam mails come in pile. Trust me, internet is much more complicated than you thought it was.

To clean browser, you will have to do the following setting:

For IE, go to upper menu bar, click tools, internet option, you will open the internet option setting page. Check the box to clean your browsing history when exiting IE.

For other browser, go to upper menu bar, click tools, choose browser setting/option, then find privacy option, you can set the setting for remembering history or not.

Second, use different passwords for different accounts.

It is never wise to use same passwords for all accounts. Internet is never safe enough for one to do that. If you can risk the chance to lose all accounts with one account being stolen, please ignore this paragraph. If you want to keep your accounts safe, remember to set different passwords for each account. You can use a paper to write down your passwords and save it in a safe place in your house. Your house is much more safer than internet.

Third, use a system protector to keep your privacy safe and clean the unsafe files from your computer.

It will detect and clean the unsafe files for you, and protect any malware or virus to steal your information.

Three Simple Ways to Solve Installing Errors

Have you ever met a situation like this: download a program for several hours, but when it comes to install, a pop up error just terminates the installation and asks you to give up. This is just annoying, especially when you are in need of that certain program to carry on your work or study. In this article, we will discuss the causes of this error and offer three ways to resolve it.

The first guess is the downloaded setup file is corrupted. It can occur either during upload or download. If the file is broken during upload, then all users will not be able to install the file from this link. This is a rare case but does happen sometimes. If you are using a downloader that supports breakpoint download, it is very possible that the file has been corrupted during the download. Sometimes browser should be blamed as well if you have downloaded through it directly. To troubleshoot the error, just try another link or another browser to download.

The second cause is antivirus and firewall that block the installing process from certain website or manufacturer. Antivirus and firewall, although designed to protect computer, can sometimes cause problems on the opposite. If the antivirus recognizes the file as containing potential threats, they may just put it in black list and prevent it from exchanging data with your computer. If you are sure that the file is safe, you may open your antivirus and firewall, put it in the white list. Then it won’t be blocked any more. If this does not solve the problem, go on reading next paragraph.

Another cause is windows installer error. If this is the case, on the error message, you will see some details related to windows installer. The reason you are seeing this error may be the service of installer being disabled. To solve this problem, just follow below steps:

  1. Press Win and R button simultaneously on your keyboard. Or click start button and then the run box.
  2. Enter “services.msc” and press Enter. Then the services configuration tool will be opened.
  3. Select ‘windows installer ‘ and right click, then click ‘property’. On the startup type, change to ‘auto’, then click ‘ok’ button. Restart your computer.

After restarting computer, you will find windows installer error gone. If not, you may have to reinstall windows installer. You can find the setup file easily on Microsoft download centre.

If all above suggestions have been tried but the problem still exists, there may be some registry errors in the system. You will need to clean it before you install the program. Note, some people may find installing error when they want to reinstall a program that has previously been installed and later uninstalled. This is exactly a registry problem that blocks an installation. You will need a registry cleaner or system optimizer to settle it.

How To Fix Print Spooler Error?

When you use printer to print documents or photos, you may sometimes get errors as below:

  • “Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close.”
  • “Operation could not be completed. The print spooler service is not running.”
  • “spoolsv.exe – Application Error”
The instruction at “0×10002837″ referenced memory at “0×00000000″.  The memory could not be written.

These three errors are very common errors one may encounter when using a printer. And if you take a look at these error messages, you will find that all the three messages refer to the same thing: spooler. Print spooler is a process that runs backstage when a printer is working. You cannot turn it off, otherwise the printing work will not run smoothly. And there are cases that the spooler service is stopped by other applications in the system. To fix the problem, you will have to:

First,  turn on the print spooler service. To do this, you will need to:

  1. Click Start button on desktop
  2. In run box or search column,
  3. type services
  4. choose local services
  5. (or go to control panel>administrative tools>services)
  6. Scroll down and click on Printer Spooler
  7. Make sure its set to automatic
  8. Click Start
  9. Restart computer.

Second, delete some files in printer folder.

The spooler errors usually occur because some files in the install folder are not working correctly. By deleting them, we can get it work again. You will need to go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, and then delete the files in it. If you can’t delete them in normal mode, you will have to do that in safe mode. Press F8 when booting computer, you can get in safe mode.

Third, refer to help from a system fixer

If above two solutions cannot solve your problem, there may be more serious problems in your computer system. Don’t hesitate to get a system fixer to help you fix the problem. Otherwise, the problem may spread to other programmes and applications.
