Syntax error, also called  script error, is caused by incorrect code that displays an error message or results in a Web page that does not load correctly. Although syntax error may seems  very difficult to be understand, it is actually simple to be settled. In most of the cases, a syntax error can be solved by altering the browser settings.

For Internet Explorer (IE), the solution is:

1. Open Internet explorer on your desktop
2. Go to upper tool bar, click “Tools”  and select “Internet Options.” This will display the Internet Options window.
3. Go to the “Advanced” tab and scroll down to the “Browsing” section.
4. Remove the check from the box for “Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer),” “Disable script debugging (Other)” and “Display a notification about every script error.”
5. Click the “Apply” button to save the changes. Click the “OK” button to close the Internet Options window.
6. Close and restart the Internet Explorer browser for the changes you made to take effect.

For Firefox, the solution is:

• Open Mozilla firefox from the desktop icon.
• Type “about:config” into the address bar and press the “Enter” key. Type “dom.max_script_run_time” into the Filter text box and press the “Enter” key.
• Double-click “dom.max_script_run_time” to display the Enter Integer Value dialog box.
• Input a value of “10″ or “15″ into the text box and click the “OK” button to save the change.
• Close and then restart the Firefox browser for the change to take effect.

Additional suggestion: If altering the script setting does not solve the syntax error, there may be more serious problem. It is suggested that you download a registry cleaner in your computer, install it and do a thorough scan of your system to remove the registry errors. It will make sure that your browser is not infected or blocked by corrupted registry.

Error 1402 usually occurs when you try to install a programme, for example, office. The error is related to windows installer, with messager like below:

Error 1402. Could not open key: <Keyname>. System error 1009.

Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

Cause: The reason why you are seeing this error is either that the windows installer service is not started or some registrys are blocking the installation.

To solve the issue,

First Solution: Start Windows Installer

Step 1: Turn on the Windows Installer service.

• 1.       Click Start, in the Search box, type services, and press Enter.
• 2.       In the Services (Local) list, right-click Windows Installer, and then click Properties.
• 3.       If the Startup type drop-down list is set to a value of Disable, select the Manual option from the Startup type drop-down list, and then click OK.
• 4.       Click the File menu, and then click Exit.

Step 2: unregister and re-register the windows installer

• 1.    Click the Start, in the Search box, type Command Prompt.
• 2.    Right click on Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.
• 3.    In the Command Prompt window,copy and paste MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER, and then click Enter. Even if you do this correctly, it may look like nothing occurs, or you may briefly see an hourglass. After you run this command, the operation is complete.
• 4.   copy and paste MSIEXEC /REGSERVER, and then click Enter. Even if you do this correctly, it may look like nothing occurs, or you may briefly see an hourglass. After you run this command, the operation is complete.

Second Solution: Check for registry damage

Error 1402 is sometimes caused by registry problem. If you have installed certain programme before and later uninstalled it from your computer, there may be some left over entrys. The system will read these entrys and think that the programme is still there, resulting in failure of the reinstallation.

In such case, you will either use an uninstall manager to remove the left over entries from your pc, or use a registry fixer to clean the registry blocks. After removing these left overs from your computer, the programme will be installed smoothly.

Black screen is a problem that is as common as computer freezing. Normally, when you see a freezing computer, there is chance that you are going to meet black screen as well. This is basically caused by a number of potential problems that will prevent your PC from being able to operate correctly. Before you learn how to fix this error, you will need to know what can probably cause such problem.

Windows black screen crash can be caused by several reasons:

• Virus attack
• Graphic card driver corrupted
• Registry error or dll problem

Troubleshooting:

Step 1: Scan your computer with Anti-virus software

Virus and malware are quite possible to cause black screen. They can hijack system files and some important processes, causing the system to mess up, freeze, not respond or even crash. To avoid further and more serious damage, it is urgent to run a virus scan to clear out all virus and malware from the computer. 

Step 2: Run a system file check to restore the system files.

As mentioned on above, virus and malware can damage the system files, resulting in system failure. Thus, it is necessary to run a system file check to restore system files when you are able to boot up in your system. To do this:

• press Win+R button on your keyboard
• type cmd press enter
• type SFC /SCANNOW

Step 3: Update your graphic driver.

This can be done manually or by the help of a driver updating software. To manually update your driver, you need to check your graphic card name in device manager and then go to the manufacturer’s official website to look for the driver. Normally computer manufacturer will offer such driver as well.

Step 4: Download a registry cleaner in your computer.

Registry is a vital part to control how a computer runs. If certain registry is missing, programs, or even the system will not run consistantly, or just crash. It is always recommended to run registry cleaner regularly to keep your computer healthy and stable.

In Internet Explorer 9, some websites may not display correctly sometimes. For example, some parts of the page may be missing or become blank; the components may be displayed in a mess.  Sometimes, the website just does not display at all.

Since IE 9 is rather new and not very familiar within us, it is necessary to learn some tips on how to get it work smoothly.  If you find some webpages not displaying correctly in IE 9, there are several steps you can try to troubleshoot it:

Step ONE: Run IE 9 in compability mode

Run IE 9 in compability mode will enable the webpages to display as how they do in earlier versions of IE.

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Compatibility View button  on the Address bar.

Step TWO:  Disable tracking protection for the website

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.
2. Click the filter button in the Address bar, and then click Turn off Tracking Protection.

Step Three:  Reset IE 9 to original settings

If you are seeing displaying problem recently, and this case has never happened before, it may be an add-on or setting problem. You may restore your IE to original state, which will very possibly solve the problem.

1.    Click the Internet Explorer Tools menu, or press Alt-T on your keyboard.
2.    Select Internet Options.
3.    On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
4.    Select the “Delete personal settings” checkbox.
5.    Click Reset.

And it is highly recommended that you download and install a registry cleaner to your computer, and have it clean your system errors and registry problems.It will rule out the possibility of IE problems caused by registry corruption.
